Hygieia, 2072 is the culmination of a semester long cross disciplinary group effort to imagine the future of food and immersive dining. What does the future of food look like? How will individuals make educated choices at the dinner table and how do they educate themselves about where their food is coming from? The augmented reality experience that is Hygieia aims to answer these questions while providing a communal "dining" experience. Users are able to view multiple future inspired foods with a capable mobile device and learn information about their meals. I created the base AR application and with the help of my group members, created photoreal 3D models of food using a technique known as photogrammetry. These 3D models are archived on the Sketchfab repository.
EngageXR is a case study on extended reality technology built for the purpose of educating future XR developers and artists. The goal for EngageXR is to provide learners with the base knowledge necessary to succeed in the industry and build foundational skills to grow into a variety of XR focused disciplines. We also aim to educate on future opportunities in the industry and to identify growth potential in differing sectors. I performed critical research highlighting XR use cases and potential across a variety of industries including but not limited to gaming, medicine, and education. Further work is intended to be completed on creation of the prototype website and XR development education.
